Many of the people I photograph have never modelled before, and they typically do their own hair and make-up. This creates an exciting and collaborative experience for both of us. Making them feel comfortable is always a priority, so I usually begin with natural window-light shots before gradually introducing studio lighting and backdrops.

This approach aligns closely with my style, as I’m drawn to the authenticity and natural presence that comes from working with non-professional models. In commissioned projects, I’ve found that brands are often keen to incorporate this same sense of realism into their campaigns.
